Raith Rovers Ladies and Girls FC U13’s travelled to Pitreavie to play the final game of the season against Bayside 12’s in a top of the table clash. Raith did their very best to try and spoil the Bayside 12’s party and managed to hold off the home side from scoring until half way through the 2nd half.
In a physical contest on a heavy pitch Raith Rovers Ladies and Girls FC U13’s defensive line of Frankee, Scarlett & Abigail were tested very hard, leading to a girl of the match performance from Raith goal keeper Frankee, who pulled off some stunning saves, playing through the pain barrier having injured her hand early in the first half. Including a quadruple save which brought applause from all of the entertained crowd. The midfield which included Fallon, Kirsty, Christina, Alana and Elise worked hard getting up and down the pitch trying to convert defence into counter attack. It was a frustrating day for tenacious strikers Katie and Rebecca with limited service and chances, however that didn’t stop them testing the Bayside 12’s defence and coming close to scoring.
Raith Rovers Ladies and Girls FC U13’s
Raith Rovers Ladies and Girls FC U13’s worked hard all over the pitch to keep a talented Bayside 12’s team at bay. Showing great pride, spirit and ability, Rovers led by captain Kirsty Fowler can hold their heads high in the knowledge that they showed the fantastic progression the team has made by giving Bayside 12’s a very tough game.
Finishing 3rd in the league, it was the last time that the squad of Frankee, Scarlett, Abigail, Kirsty, Alana, Christina, Fallon, Amy, Rebecca, Katie and Elis will play together.
Coaches David Archer and Alex Wilson could not be prouder of the team and both feel it has been a pleasure to coach a wonderful group of girls.
Well done girls – David.
